We had a great meet yesterday at the Shepard mid Michigan Mega Star! We had three athletes qualify for the meet. This meet is similar to a state meet for middle school. There were 88 teams that participated in two divisions large and small. The top 16 in each event qualify from each division. The top six in each division receive medals. We were the only school in our conference to take athletes to this event. A big thank you to Brian Mumby for getting us into this event as it was everything I was hoping it would be.
Chloe Dimon took 7th place in the shop after coming in ranked in 13th place. She set her PR by nearly two feet throwing a new school record of 30’8.5″. It was amazing! She had three throws over 30′ and had never thrown over 28’10”. The work she put in over the weekend in anticipation of this meet really paid off. Great job Chloe!
Meagan Lange took 7th place in the 800M run in a personal record time of 2:33.76 resetting her own school record and only 0.16 seconds off our varsity record. She also took 9th in the 400M and 12th in the 200M. Meagan also worked really hard this week pulling a tire for three miles to increase stamina to compete in a very competitive group in the small school division in the 800M. She would have received a medal in the large school division with her time.
Cheyenne Boggs took 8th in the 70M dash in PR time of 10.00 and reset her school record. She also took 5th in the 200M dash in PR time of 28.77 and received a bronze medal. She got out of the blocks great and ran hard. Great job Cheyenne!
