Forest Area joined McBain, Marion and McBain NMC in a quad meet Tuesday. It would be their first time on the track and field this season (their first meet at Central Lake was cancelled due to weather). Highlights from the girls’ afternoon included Junior Janay Smith’s 2nd place finish in long jump while Sophomore Grace White took fourth in pole vault. Freshman Miranda Taylor placed fourth in the 100 m hurdles. As a team, the Warriors finished 4th.
Forest Area Junior Paul Korn placed 1st in both the long jump at 19′ 1.5” and 100 m (11.1 seconds). The relay team placed second in both the 400 and 800 m relays. Reese Velfling took second in the discus (94 8.5) and the shot put (37-2.5). Tyler Martin placed second in 100 m hurdles and 3rd in 300 m hurdles. Sophomore Jon Skotnicki took second in both the high jump and 200. Ben Kammeraad placed third in discus while Hollis Thomas finished 3rd in pole vault. The Forest Area boys took third place in their meet. Great job Warriors!
